The St. Louis Six Rescue – A Story of Love and Redemption

This week’s showcased item is a beautiful story called The St. Louis Six Rescue. It’s about six cows who escaped a slaughterhouse and ran through the streets of St. Louis, trying to find their way home. They were eventually rounded up by authorities and sent back to the slaughterhouse, but due to public outcry, a campaign was started for their freedom, and The Gentle Barn animal sanctuary was contacted. The Gentle Barn was given 24 hours to save their lives and find them a new home.

We are sharing this short film because it shows what we believe Christians should be doing – being a voice for the voiceless, (Proverbs 31:8) rescuing those headed for death unjustly, (Proverbs 24:11) and giving animals the home that God intended for them, from the beginning…a place of love, peace, safety, and good care. (Isaiah 11:6-9, Hosea 2:18) Their forever home.

“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.”
Proverbs 31:8

We hope you enjoy this beautiful story of love and redemption. We hope to see more of these in the future!
