Vegan Chef Quits Romanian MasterChef After Being Ordered To Cook Meat
Are we taking a stand for God’s creatures? Scripture is full of examples of people taking a stand for their faith. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow down and worship King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden statue (Daniel 3). Paul and the other apostles refused to stop preaching the gospel, even in the face of death threats (Acts 4-5).
Vegan and professional athlete Alex Lenghel joined the latest season of MasterChef, as the show’s first-ever vegan contestant. He made it through the first round of the show by preparing a plant-based dish. But in the next round, when asked to cook animal flesh, he refused, even at the threat of being kicked off the show.
As Christians, we should take a similarly strong stance against animal cruelty, even when it is uncomfortable to do so.
